I have this problem with windows live msn .. I had windows live 8, and it worked just as it should be!
One day I tried to log in but it says there is a new update for windows live and I should install it, and I tried that it reached about 40% but it I had an error – 0×80004004 – so what I did is this: uninstall windows live from control Panel and re-install it again! but I had the same error, then I uninstall it again from control Panel and re-installed the old messenger 7 , I got the message “there is new update” so I clicked on “yes” to download the new update .. still no use.

I googled it up and what I found is that using a clean up system program is helpful so I used – ParetoLogic PC Health Advisor – it did find some problems and got ‘em all fixed.

So what I have now is this .. No messenger, can’t install it and when I try so it gives me the same error every time and when I click on start- All programs I still can see “Windows live” over there! How come and I uninstalled that :S

Help please .. I have no idea what should I do now!!!!

Download and run ZapMessenger. Reboot. Download and run Ccleaner as a registry cleaner. Reboot. Download the newest version of Windows Live Messenger from Microsoft, install it.
