Re: History Sweep on Personal Computer?

After I do a history sweep, the Google toolbar history remains. What can I do to delete this? I do not understand after going to Internet Options/Security/Delete Files, (which includes temporary Internet files), the Google toolbar history remains. Any suggestions? I have also downloaded a “free” history sweep program by Paretologic, but after sweeping, a pop-up requests purchasing, and the history still remains on the toolbar. Thanks.
I have tried to click on “history,” but when I do…the list drops with the history of sites, but nowhere is there a “delete” or “delete history” tab. Also, is there a anti spyware/malware suite that is highly recommended that covers all objectives to keep a computer safe? Thanks again.

Trying to uninstall but comes up with Missing Windows installer 1422f82.msi?

Can anyone help I’m really confused. My computer has started acting up ever since I installed a programme called paretologic file cure. It had found around 95 problems but to do anything about this I had to purchase which I never bothered. I uninstalled the programme. Now eversince, I’m trying to uninstall Power2go trial but it comes up with Missing Windows Installer 1422f82.msi. How can I get this back? I tried to install the programme back on but it says the programme already exists please uninstall. When trying to uninstall it comes up with missing file. I’m really in a catch 22 situation. Many thanks for answering.
I have tried manually it says the file is used by another programme. I gone into task manager. I can’t find any fies that’s opened using the same programme. I tried restarting PC but same thing over and over again.
I’m really lost.

Help Trojan and Worm?

I went to this site called hado.net and on the site I clicked this link that took me to this virus I think. It said “hacked by pumabuk” and then my internet browser minimized and started moving around the screen. I instantly shut my computer down, restarted and ran McAfee. It detected a virus called the Trojan Dropper. So then I downloaded SuperAntiSpyware and had the Trojan removed. I downloaded yet another Anti-Virus called ParetoLogic (I was panicking). And it detected 2 worms and 2 trojans. But I couldn’t delete them on a free trial. So now I dunno what to do, I’m dumb when it comes to this stuff and I’m scared my computer is gonna screw up. HELP!

(Note) If you don’t have a taskbar? Hit Ctrl Shift Esc at the same time and the task manager will pop up. Click on [File] at the top left corner of your task manager and choose New Task (Run).Type cmd and hit ok.In the command window type start explorer.exe and hit enter and “My Documents” will popup and your taskbar should be back?

1.Go to Start->Rt click on My Computer and choose Properties -> System Restore Tab -> check the “Turn off system restore” box -> hit Apply and Ok.

2.Hit Ctrl Shift and Esc at the same time and bring up your task manager and choose the processes tab and look for any shady looking exe’s like Regcure.exe or something with allot of random numbers and letters? Rt click on them and choose end process.

4.While in “Safe with networking mode” download Malwarebytes.

5.Right click on the mbam setup app you downloaded and rename it xxxx then Dbl click on it and install and update it (If you can) and run a full scan and delete/quarantine all entities it finds (Restart if it asks?)

6.Go to Start,Run,type msconfig and hit ok.Go in BOOT.INI tab and untick Safe Boot and then go in the Startup tab and (uncheck) all programs (not) needed at startup “Lesser is better in this case” and hit apply,close,restart.Your computer will boot normally and on your desktop a window will popup,check “Don’t show this message” box and hit ok.

7.Download Superantispyware,install,update,and run a full scan and

How to fix corrupted Windows system files.
1. Go to Start -> Run -> type sfc /scan now ->hit ok.
It will ask you to insert a Windows XP installation disc.
2. Insert the disc and let the SFC utility run
3. SFC will check/repair changes made to the main system files.

How to fix error messages.
Go to Start > Run > type cmd > Hit [ok]
1.Type chkdsk /f Hit enter and press “y” for yes and let it run.
2.When it’s done restart your computer.

Fatal BLUE SCREEN- what is it and why does it happen?

I really only use my PC for email and messenger and pool games. I do look stuff up. It is very SLOW now and just blue screened. It starts right back up but what can I do or stop doing to stop it from crashing? I just bought ParetoLogic for and it isn’t fixing it. However it DID find and fix over 300 problems. I’m pretty computer illiterate and obviously pretty much a sucker for a quick fix!! HELP!!!! I also transfer ALOT of pictures to it from my camera (Kodak Easy Share). I have been using Google Maps to track my cross country trip and now it won’t bring up “My maps”, which right now, is covering 17 states. Is that LOST forever or can I find it in there SOMEWHERE? Thank-you to whoever replies, in advance!!

your google map is saved online. you need to get your pics backed up on CD or a flash drive. a blue screen of death means that windows is having SERIOUS problems. first try to repair windows, if thats doesnt work then you will need to reinstall it fresh…

How can you uninstall a “ghost” program on your computer?

A program that I uninstalled over 5 months ago keeps on popping up once in a while. It’s called the Paretologic system. It interfered with my computer’s antivirus program so I uninstalled the program. I looked through all of my default programs, currently installed programs. I typed in the name of the program on the search program on my computer and found no system existing. What can I do to find this ghost on my computer and uninstall it for good? Manually editing Windows registry for removing a browser hijacking entry ?

I ran a free antispyware scan with XoftSpy from www.paretologic.com and it listed that my notebook is infected with CWS.Oslogo (type: registry value; threat level: Severe risk;object: software\microsoft\internet explorer\styles\user stylesheet ) .
For removing this registry entry I was asked to purchase the XoftSpy program.
What are the ways/instructions to MANUALLY & SAFELY edit the Windows registry in order to get rid of this malicious registry entry?

CWS is one of a group of browser hijackers and Browser Helper Objects (BHOs) that have become famous for their prevalence and global influence. It exploits security holes in a Web browser (often Internet Explorer and its Java Virtual Machine) to install itself and direct all browser default pages, address bar searches and search engine searches to other web search pages. Oslogo slows down Internet Explorer considerably and periodically changes the homepage and search page to other websites.

Sounds like you have the latest TrojanWin32 hijacker. This malicious virus is designed to interrupt browsing and give you some minor connection problems in the hop that the site currently dispensing it will get you to pay for their removal software.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD THEIR VIRUS SOFTWARE TO REMOVE THIS!

I spent almost four hours over the phone last night walking my friend (who is almost completely computer illiterate) through this.
I think you will have a much easier time.

First off messing with the registry is always a bad idea and not necessary in this case.
Sounds like it is doing the same thing to you that it is doing to everyone else.

The simple fix to this is;
Step #1) to go to http://www.download.com
and download yourself a copy of AVG free edition 7.5.503.
This softwre is absolutely free and one of the highest rated anti virus systems out there (reseach it yourself).

If the hijacker pops up right before the last second of verifying the download, restart your computer and see if it’s in there (AVG).
It should be, but in the remote case it is not repeat step one.

Step#2) Once you have AVG free loaded, run a scan and the anti virus should capture the TrojanWin32 and quarantine it. Afterward you can delete it from th virus vault.

In the remote chance this does not work and you are running Windows Vista you can simply do a system restore to alleviate the problem. This is done as follows:

1)go to start
2)Control panel
3)Click the icon marked backup and restore center
4)Click the option marked “Use System restore to fix problems and undo changes to Windows”
5)The system will give you a recommended restore point. If the date on the recommended restore point is prior to the date that the virus was downloaded choose that. If not, or you are uncertain of the date that the Trojan was first was downloaded, choose an earlier (different) restore point.
6)Remember that any other programs that were downloaded after that date (restore point) will ot be present after the system resets itself, however files and documents saved, or created from that point, will not be affected.

Why does this Error pop up on my screen like once a day?

It does not matter what i am doing on the computer but at least once a day this pops on my windows Xp screen! Error loading – C:\Programfiles\commonfiles\paretologic\UUS2\UUS.dll – The speified module could not be found??? What is this and how do i get rid of it??
I don’t think i have a drivercure or filecure. How can i tell?? No it will come on when i am just doing stuff on the internet, just any time anywebsite at lease once a day!

songs and videos were deleted off ipod?

I really have no idea what happened. I was downloading music, and it worked fine yesterday but today when I disconnected my ipod i saw that my songs and videos were gone. I saw a video on youtube that told me to go to the hidden Ipod_Control folder but no songs appear in my music folder, all those “F00″, “F01″ folders are empty. But, when I used the demo version of an “ipod file recovery” software (paretologic data recovery) it located all of my songs and it listed the deleted songs and videos (and other things) as being located in the Ipod_Control folder. But there’s nothing in there! Not when I look. But the software says that it’s there but it’s not… I just don’t know.

I was playing songs on windows media player at the time, with the itunes window up and ipod plugged in. i think the songs on windows media player were somehow copied over to the itunes program, seeing as how after I unplugged my ipod and checked my itunes, the songs from the windows media player folder were in the itunes “music” tab rather than the songs that were previously on there. and also, i don’t know if this matters but for some reason my pictures were still there.

i do think it was somehow windows media’s fault, i had music and video files in the folder but no pictures, the music and videos replaced the ones in itunes but the pictures were left alone because there were none [in windows media] to replace it.
oh yeah, i had it on manually manage music and disable automatic syncing so those can’t be the problems.
basically, can anyone tell me how to get the songs to show in the ipod control folder(s), or does anyone know a free ipod data recovery software, or any other methods of getting back lost ipod files.

What is the best program that will help keep your softwares and drivers on your computer updated?

I’ve used several programs to try and keep my softwares and drivers up-to-date at all times. The program that worked the best for me was ParetoLogic’s DriverCure.

Does anyone know of 1 or a few programs that are good, not decent, but actually good and won’t screw up my drivers and registry?
Aside from doing Windows Updates, because we all know Windows Updates doesn’t have the latest versions for each driver and software because it gives you an older version that is stable, are there any third party programs that are good?

OK so i was deleting some programs from my computer i accidentally deleted soundmax and Now i have NO SOUND coming from my speakers!! i already tryed the same websites for example:
